Giving Sight

You draw eyes in the dark but on lights

You give eyes to what should never see

You give sight but destroy the perceived

You poke holes for air where no one breathes

You stab shadows with light beams

You carve an exit but give death a backdoor entrance

You take life in giving sight

Because an unwished gift is a curse

To the other whose needs are contrary

God—Truth is dead, values vary

Your sight and that life could have been spared

If only you had asked before bestowing to shadows searing light

 (burning and bright)

Giving death with no right
